Beaches
Gujarat has a coastline measuring more than 1660 km, the longest among all Indian states, lined by beaches, scenic rocky coast lands, beach palaces and shore temples. The coast promises a holiday that blends relaxing on sea beaches with sightseeing and other activities. A unique aspect of the Gujarat coast is the presence of royal palaces along the Porbandar, Junagadh, Bhavnagar and Kutch district coastline.

Ahmedpur Mandvi :

It is one of the best beaches of Gujarat. The long sandy stretch of beach, with Hoka palm trees to the rear and a view over the sea to the island of Diu, is good for walks and wading. Water sports are on offer at Ahmedpur Mandvi. It is possible to cross to Diu and enjoy numerous beach options and sightseeing of the Portuguese monuments. Off the road from Diu to Bhavnagar, via Mahuva, is Gopnath. It has a shore temple, where it is said Narsingh Mehta attained enlightenment, and a scenic rocky coastline. The Gopnath bungalow is now a heritage hotel. On the west coast of the Gulf of Cambay are Ubhrat and Tithal, near Valsad, which has a beach fringed by groves, popular for swimming, wading and walking. Further down the coast are the Union territory of Daman and the beach of Deheri which offers good swimming.

Mandvi(Kutch) :

Mandavi founded in 1581 Ad has a fortification with 25 bastions. The Rukmavati bridges bult in 1883 is the lonest existing one of it s kind. One of Gujarat's prettiest beaches is Mandvi on the northern coast of the Gulf of Kutch. Situated near Mandvi town, which has many buildings of the Jadeja Rajput rulers of Kutch district, the beaches of Mandvi have pretty sands and good views, and it is always possible to find safe places for swimming and wading. While the town beach attracts a number of visitors, it is possible to escape the crowds at the pleasant beaches of Vijay Vilas place, a short distance out of town, with a pavilion facing the sea, for a fee. Other beaches are Pingleshwar and Ashamata.

Chorwad Beach :

Chorwad beach is 66 kms from Jungadh and 23kms from the centre of Vereval, Chorward is delightful resort on the sunny cost of Gujarat. And an excellent road connects it to Junagadh, Girnar, the Gir Forests Snctuary and the famous temple  of somnath. An unspoilt and interesting community with fishing as its main acovation lives nearby and one can treat onself with the fresh mouth-watering sea food.

Dwarka :

One of the west coast of Saurashtra is the shore temple of Dwarka, and numerous other temples in this holy coastal town. Shivrajpur is a pretty beach near Dwarka. Good bird life can be viewed along Dwarka coast. And dolphins near bet Dwarka. Off shore from 200 kms coastline from Jamnagar to Dwarka is India’s first marine national park.

Porbandar :

Porbandar, down the coast from Dwarka, is a historic coastal town convenient for visits to numerous beaches like Madhavpur, Kuchdi and Chorward. The Chowpathy of Porbandar is a popular place for strolls; the creeks of Porbandar are delightful birding places, flush with flamingos, rosy pelicans and other magnificent birds.

Gopnath Beach :

A beautiful hamlet on the coast of the Gulf of Khambhat and at a distance of 10 Kms from Talaja, the taluka headquarter of Bhavnagar district is Gopnath. It was a pleasant sea-shore retreat of Gohil rulers of Bhavnagar. It attracts marine life and birdwatching enthusiasts to the rocky shores on the coast. It is also renowed for the temple of Gopnath Mahadev, where Narsinh Mehta is believed to have performed penanc.

Tithal :

It is situated 108 kms from Surat and 5 kms from Valsad on the Bombay- Vadodara Wesetern Railway. A beautiful sany beaches and palm-sheltered cottages is what you would get to see there.

Hajira :

Hajira is situated 28kms form Surat. The pleasant Hajira beach is fringed by feathery casuarinas trees. It is well known health resorts, south wet of Surat on the creek of the Arabian sea. Hajira has two wells with water rich in iron and sulphar.

Dumas :

Dumas , an excellent health resort which overlooks the Arabian sea is about 16kms from Surat .
